Registration Is Easy
Before registering advisers and members, a chapter adviser must (1) request a Chapter Organization Packet from the FBLA National Center (which can be done at the link below) and (2) apply for affiliation for the school (see Resources--Adviser Resources--Affiliation on this web site). Once the chapter is established with both the National Center and the California Departtment of Education through the affiliation process, the adviser can proceed to the next step: registering members. Questions about these steps may be directed to our Chapter Support Center at email@example.com.
California chapters need to go to the national website online registration screen in order to register student members. Enter your chapter number, omitting hyphens and zeroes. Enter the password supplied by your section director or the state Business and Program Manager. Be very careful to not enter continuing members as new members--select them from the continuing member list and then add new members in the new members area. Be sure to submit payment in order that it is received by any posted deadline. An invoice will print at the conclusion of each registration session, which chapters should print and mail in--to the national office--with a check. An option is also available for credit card payment.
Follow the Online Membership Registration Instructions document for the current year posted under RESOURCES--ADVISER RESOURCES. All membership fees are paid to the national office.
- Section dues of $25 are added in on the first invoice printed only.
- California high school members pay $11 (unified state and national dues)
- Middle level members pay $7 (unified state and national dues)
All California professional members should be registered by completing the California Professional Membership Application Form (also on the Adviser Resources) and mailing it to the State Business and Program Manager (address on CONTACTS page for STATE MANAGEMENT TEAM under ABOUT).
Watch Out for the "MONEY RECEIVED BY" Deadlines!
With our use of the national online membership registration system, it is critical that everyone understand that ALL DEADLINES INVOLVING MEMBERSHIPS ARE DATES BY WHICH MONEY MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE NATIONAL OFFICE. Applicable dates are as follows:
October 20--Money received deadline to meet one of the requirements for Gold Seal Chapter Award of Merit (Don't delay on this one! Payment online can even be made by credit card and then reimbursed by the chapter.)
February 1--Money received deadline to be eligible for section conference (competition).
February 1--Professional Membership Dues Received for State Project Recognition and for L. Byram Bates Memorial Scholarships--Money Received.
March 1--Money received deadline to be eligible for state and national conference (competition). However, please note that if a member is registered for an SLC event with an earlier deadline, then that member's dues must be paid by that time.
