COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

Category: Prejudged Reports & Presentation
Type: ChapterOverview: Two (2) parts: a prejudged report and a presentation. Competitors must complete both parts for award eligibility.
Skills: This event recognizes FBLA chapters that successfully implement community service projects to serve the citizens of their communities. The report must describe one chapter project that serves the community. The project must be in the interest of the community and designed for chapter participation.
Elgibility: Members representing their chapter in the presentation component of this event may also compete in up to two individual and/or team events.
State: Each local chapter may submit one (1) entry.
National: The top four (4) places at the state competition will represent California at the National Leadership Conference. NOTE: Some SLC top-10 finalists will become eligible for the national conference as a result of drops. Make sure you get early approval from your parents to attend the National Conference so you will be in a position to say "yes" to your adviser if you are "bumped up".
Event Specific Guidelines:-
Reports must describe one (1) chapter project that serves the community. The project must be in the interest of the community and designed for chapter participation. Include:
- Description of the project
- Chapter member involvement
- Degree of impact on the community
- Evidence of publicity received
- Project evaluation
- Presentation team may consist of one to three of the chapter's members
Finalists: The top eight (8) chapters with the highest prejudged report score will compete in the presentation portion of the event with up to three (3) members.
Submission: Project must be submitted online as a PDF. See Competitive Events Overview for submission forms. Report Verification is included on Submission Form. File size limited to 20 MB. Compress file, if necessary.
Submission Deadline: 11:59 pm March 3. Conference registration of chapter presenters is required for work to be judged and changes can me made up to final day of conference registration. Missing the deadline or failure to register for the conference will forfeit chapter participation. Hint: Allow for plenty of time to upload your work.Timeline:

Penalty Over Time: 5 pts
Q & A: 3 minJUDGING: Judges will use the rating sheets (prejudged or presentation) to score competitors. The panel of judges evaluating prejudged materials may not necessarily be the same panel evaluating the presentations. All decisions of the judges are final.
