SPREADSHEET APPLICATIONS

    Type: Individual Event – Section, State, National

    Overview:
    Two parts: a one-hour production test administered and proctored at a designated school-site prior to the conference and a 60-minute objective test administered onsite at the conference. Refer to the Production & Objective Test Guidelines (link below) for proctor registration and test request.

    Production Test Competencies: Basic mathematical concepts; Data organization concepts; Creating formulas; Functions; Generate graphs for analysis purposes; Pivot tables; Create macros; Filter and extract data.
    Objective Test Competencies: 
    Formulas; Functions; Graphics, charts, reports; Purpose for spreadsheets; Pivot tables and advanced tools; Macros and templates; Filters and extraction of data; Format and print options.

    Skills: Spreadsheet skills are necessary to convert data to information in business. This event recognizes FBLA members who demonstrate that they have acquired skills for spreadsheet development in business.

    Eligibility: The participant may not have previously competed in this event at the national level.

    SECTION: Each local chapter may enter a maximum of three (3) members. Competitors must have paid for membership and be registered for the section conference by December 13.
    STATE: A maximum of the top five (5) places from section competition will represent their section at the State Leadership Conference. Competitors must be registered for SLC by February 28.
    NATIONAL: 
    The top four (4) places in state competition will represent California at the National Leadership Conference. NOTE: Some SLC top-10 finalists will become eligible for the national conference as a result of drops. Make sure you get early approval from your parents to attend the National Conference so you will be in a position to say "yes" to your adviser if you are "bumped up".

    Step 2: Register competitors using conference regististration by December 13th. (Only students registered in the event will receive a test.) 

    Submission: - Completed Skill Test Work and CertificationsJanuary 17th 

    STATE CONFERENCE
