The Southern Section welcomes California FBLA to the 2008 State Leadership Conference! The conference will take place April 24-27 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine.
2008 california state leadership conference (SLC)
Group Session Testing Plan:
Group testing will be divided by school names as listed in the membership system (see SLC State Chapter Delegation Roll Call List for
interpretation of that order)
First Session: Schools Ann Sobrato through Lynbrook
Second Session: Schools Madera South through Williams
Third Session: Conflicts, etc.
Battle of the Rock Bands (replaces Name That Tune): Thursday night at the State Leadership Conference, along with "Dancing Without the Stars," California FBLA is hosting a "Rock Band" video game tournament in the Garden Pavilion. All registered members of the conference are invited to sign-up a team to compete. Register now! Space is limited to the first ten teams signed-up and all applications must be received by Friday April 18. We'll be playing on the PlayStation 2 platform, equipment will be provided, and prizes will be awarded. Contact Matt Gray, Gold Coast Section Director, for more information. Download the Flyer.
Alternates: Email alternates (in events that allow for them) to schristensen@cafbla.org and to your section director.
Wild Cards: The online system does not provide a way to distinguish alternates. Please be careful to only exceed the allowable number of registrants on a pre-qualifying written test event only two times. We will be checking this, of course, but we want to avoid the difficult situation of having to adjust registration after travel arrangements have been made.
Voting Delegates: The online system DOES now have a way to designate your voting delegates. It appears as another event for which students can be registered. Two of your students can be designated as alternates. It will not reduce the number of competitive events that can be entered.
Congratulations to Pre-Judged Event Finalists: (Schools listed in alphabetical order; Keep checking back here--Event results will come in from the judges over the next several weeks. Also, check for presentation time schedules far below--check SLC Packet for day of event.)
